God rest ye merry gentlemen
America’s reborn
A fervent hope, an answered prayer
On starlit Christmas morn
From sea to shining sea we stand
By fields of yellow corn

Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

God rest ye merry gentlemen
Our Nation binds her wounds
We’ve suffered traitors’ feral grins
Yet kept our faith that soon
Discordant voices in our midst
Will sing a different tune

Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

God rest ye merry gentlemen
Old Glory still survives
Our Founding Fathers’ lit a torch
To keep the dream alive
Of liberty bequeathed by He
From whom our strength’s derived

Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
